One Response to Root the HTC Amaze 4G

  1. This is the best rooting method, when the others didn’t work, this one did!
There is a chance it will fail–if so, see this page for troubleshooting:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16125179&postcount=2
Mine failed the first time, but worked the second time, simply by giving it the command to install the zip again.
Also, note the typos in the above instructions–the lines that each read like this:
    C:amaze-rootadb
    will really look like this:
    C:\amaze-root\adb
When you connect your phone to the pc make sure the phone is in Disk Drive mode to copy Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip to the SD card you installed to the phone–mine wasn’t found when I copied it to the phone memory, though it might be if you didn’t install an SD card of your own–I don’t know as I didn’t test it without my SD card installed.
Copy the file (steps 7 and 8) to the SD card BEFORE running step 6.
    Good luck,
    Peter
