BBM Music now available free for six months

It hasn’t exactly set the music-streaming world alight, so it should come as no surprise that Research in Motion is trying to push BBM Music by offering up to six months free access.
The service, first announced in August, allows BBM users to get access to up to 50 music tracks for £4.99 a month with the facility to swap 25 of those tracks a month, every month.
Hoping to offer something different from Spotify, which is also available on BlackBerry, BBM Music also allows users to share their musical choices with up to 500 BBM friends meaning, in theory, you could get access to 7000 tracks in total on and offline.
Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI are all on board so there are plenty of tunes to choose from – more than 10 million, in fact.
BBM Music has also seen an update to version 1.1 bringing in Facebook and Twitter contacts as possible music friends, giving you a better chance to access more music.
The free trial (six months in the UK, four months Stateside) is available to new BBM Music users only.
